How to Stop Alexa From Recording Your Conversations

The first step is to find out how to review the recordings made by Alexa. The recordings can be played back and deleted if you so choose. In some instances, you may find recordings without a title and text that says ‘Text not available’. That is because the Alexa device may have woken you up and recorded you for a few extra seconds. Delete these recordings and you will no longer be able to hear the conversations.

Fortunately, the answers are not too hard to find. There are several ways to turn off the microphone on an Alexa device. To mute Alexa, press the top right-hand button, which turns the ring indicator red. Otherwise, unplug your Alexa and turn off the device. This is especially helpful if you work from home and want to avoid the recording of your conversations. If you find the recordings unimportant, you can delete them later.

If you want to prevent the recording of your conversations, simply tell Alexa to stop listening to you. You can do this by going to the Alexa app and tapping on the square boxes next to the recordings. You can then select the recordings you wish to delete and tap on Delete. This step is crucial because otherwise, Alexa will continue recording your conversations while you’re playing music. You should also be aware that you can delete the recordings you don’t want Alexa to hear.
